Second round of CUP at the “Karađorđe” Stadium

Novi Sad City Stadium, also known as “Vojvodina” Stadium gained new name: “Karađorđe”. Second round of CUP for seniors will be held at this stadium on Thursday and Friday (May 24th and 25th 2007), beginning at 4:00 P.M. One hour before the start of senior competitions, hurdle disciplines of adjusted dimensions and throwing disciplines with mild instruments will be held for younger and older juniors. We wish to establish possibilities for obtaining norms for grand competitions of younger age groups in 2007 –World Championship for Younger Juniors in Ostrava and European Championship for Elder Juniors in Hengelo).

47th “Magyar Szo” CUP

Senta, Saturday May 12th 2007
Several outstanding results were reached at 47th “Magyar Szo” CUP. Traditional bowl was won by Serbian athletic veteran Dragan Perić, member of AC “Crvena Zvezda”, with the result of 19.20 m in shot put. Among females, the best result was reached by Jelena Jotanović from AAC “Novi Sad” in 100 m hurdles and the result of 13.69, the new meeting record.
Among members of Vojvodinian clubs best results were reached by Miroslav Novaković, member of AC “Partizan” from Kikinda in 110 m hurdles (14.48) and Muči Robert, member of AC “Senta” in 400 m (48.94).
Muči Robert was also the best athlete from AC “Senta”, while Molnar G. Anita, also from Senta, was the best among female athletes in 400 m (1:01.59).
Memorial in hammer throw went to Eperješi Laslo, member of AC “Senta” for his result of 60.40 m. He also won “Miša Kovačević” Memorial bowl. Memorial discipline for females was shot put, and memorial “Perović Cveta Bedža” was won by Dijana Šefčić, member of AC “Spartak” from Subotica, with 15.76 m
Awards fund for the best athletic results was 192.500.00 CSD. Biggest part of it, 110.00.00 CSD, was won by female athletes; Ivana Španović winning 25.000.00 for 6.12 in long jump. The greatest amount was won by Jelena Jotanović from AAC “Novi Sad” (55.000.00), placing herself among Top Ten in two disciplines. Besides 100 m hurdles, her result of 12.21 in 100 m was also ranked among Top Ten.

XVII Balcanian Cross for Veteran
Smederevo, Sunday April the 15th, 2007
On Sunday April the 15th, 2007 XVII Balcanian Cross for Veteran was held in Smederevo. Athletes from our Club reached the following notable results:
- Magdolna Belić, in category W35-39, won the second place in 6000 m race with the result of 29:12.9.
- Mirjana Jurišin, in category W55-59, won the second place in 4000 m race with the result of 22:17.6.

Veterans shone in Budapest
Budapest, Saturday March 10th, 2007
Our athletes made another success on Saturday, March 10th at the International Indoor Meeting for Veterans in Budapest. Željka Bjedov (W35) won the 1st place in high jump clearing 125 cm. Lidija Petrovski (W35) won the 2nd place in 60 m race with the result of 8.91. Goran Bjedov (M35) won the 2nd place in shot put with the result of 11.65 m.

Four aces from Serbia in Birmingham

Sport manager of Serbian Athletic Federation Dragutin Topić and his associates, head coaches of discipline groups (Mihajlo Švraka – jumping disciplines, Zoran Zdravković - sprint and hurdle races, Nikola Tomasović - throwing disciplines and Slavko Kuzmanović – middle and long distance races) announced the participants of European Indoor Championship in Birmingham, which will be held from March 2nd till March 4th, 2007.
Representatives of Serbia at this European Indoor Championship are:
- Miroslav Novaković – AC “Partizan“, Kikinda – 60 m hurdles (coach Zoran Zdravković)
- Ivana Španović – AC “Vojvodina“, Novi Sad – long jump (coach Jani Hajdu)/li>
- Marina Munćan – AC “Dinamo“, Pančevo – 1500 m (coach Mile Ugren)
- Jelena Jotanović – AAC "Novi Sad“, Novi Sad – 60 m hurdles (coach Anton Gluhak)
Besides Dragutin Topić, the headquarters members are Jani Hajdu, Ivana Španović’s coach (AC “Vojvodina”), as well as Doctor Jovan Đurović, currently residing in London, who will be responsible for health of our national team members.

Igor Šarčević renewed his success from the year 2006

Novi Sad, February 22nd, 2007
Igor Šarčević renewed his success from the last indoor season, winning the bronze medal in pole vault at Balkans Indoor Championship, held on Thursday, February 22nd, 2007.
This year, Balkans Championship was held in Hall of Peace and Friendship in Athens. Igor was the only and well worthy representative of our Club, proofing his quality with the result of 4.90 m.
Pole vault placement: Efremov (Bulgaria) 5.70; Filipidis (Greece) 5,35; Šarčević (Serbia) 4.90.
